Borough Board of Commissioners Election to be held May 9
Haddonfield Mayor Jeff Kasko has declared his intention to run for the Borough Board of Commissioners in the election to be held Tuesday, May 9.
“I am excited to announce that I will be a candidate for commissioner in the May 9 election in Haddonfield,” Mayor Kasko stated. “There are a number of important issues we are facing, and initiatives to see through in the next several years. I would like to continue working on these and maintaining Haddonfield as the best community in South Jersey in which to live, work, visit and raise a family.”
“The Board of Commissioners needs strong leadership and experience in the years ahead as it addresses issues related to land use, redevelopment, public safety, infrastructure, spending and property taxes, and the vibrancy of our downtown,” according to Kasko. “Getting things done and working together with the other commissioners, residents, staff, and hired professionals to manage these challenges have been hallmarks of the past four years, which we need to continue for the next four-year term.”
Mayor Kasko listed several accomplishments from the past four years as examples of getting things done; the renovation and expansion of the library, the purchase and redevelopment of the Bancroft site, increasing the pace of road improvements, selling the water/sewer utility, instituting smart fiscal policies, and keeping property taxes for municipal operations flat.
“It’s been a tremendous privilege to serve as commissioner and mayor, and I am so mindful of the trust that people have placed in me. Serving the residents of Haddonfield is a significant investment of time, but it’s very rewarding and I hope to do it for one more term,” concluded Kasko.
