St. Mary of the Lakes Knights of Columbus Council 6520 (www.medfordknights.org) hosted its 12th annual charity golf tournament at Medford Village Country Club, raising more than $54,000 for Medford’s Society of St. Vincent de Paul, the Interfaith Hospitality Network of Burlington County, and 1st Way of Burlington County.

“Knights of Columbus Council 6520 is grateful to our golfers, sponsors, local businesses, and volunteers who ‘chipped in for charity’ to support vital organizations that treat every man, woman, and child with respect, dignity, and compassion,” said Council 6520 Grand Knight Don Bouchard, who has chaired the tournament for the last three years. “We were thrilled to have the maximum number of golfers as well as 72 additional people for the awards presentation and a wonderful dinner.”

The event had more than 28 sponsors and 30 boosters, including:

  • Holman Ford, Lincoln, Toyota, and Audi (Event Sponsor)
  • David Karbasian Law (Event Sponsor)
  • ShopRite of Medford (Event Sponsor)
  • Clyde Lattimer and Son Construction (Gold Sponsor)
  • Procacci Brothers Sales Corporation (Gold Sponsor)
  • Wawa Inc. (Gold Sponsor)

“On behalf of the Holman Community, it has been a tremendous honor and privilege to work together with the Knights of Columbus and partners to help aide the less fortunate in our community,” said Holman’s Anthony Stone.

“It was my pleasure to support such a great event for such charitable causes,” said David
Karbasian. “My office believes in giving back just like my brother Knights”

“We believe in the mission of the Knights of Columbus and are happy to support them in their worthy endeavors,” said ShopRite’s Kim Bezanis.

Chris Comer, Pat Day, Stephen Flurry, and Mike Noble won the tournament featuring 144
golfers who enjoyed golf, lunch, a cocktail hour with appetizers, dinner, guest speakers, a live auction, raffles and 48 tombola gift baskets.

“We also are grateful to the five silver sponsors, 14 bronze sponsors, and the more than 100 merchants who donated items for the auction, raffles and tombola prizes. These mostly local merchants that support this event are critical to the tournaments success,” added Bouchard.
