The Haddonfield Historical Society will meet on Wednesday, May 24 at 7:30 p.m. in Greenfield Hall for a discussion about the once thriving oyster industry along the Delaware Bay.

The meeting will be presented by Dr. Michael Chiarappa, a Haddonfield resident and professor of history at Quinnipiac University who is very involved with the Bayshore Center at Bivalve, especially the preservation of the AJ Meerwald, a restored oyster dredging schooner.

Chiarappa will discuss the Delaware Bay’s oystering past and show historic photographs to give a sense of the bustling noisy past of Delaware Bay’s oyster farming.

Greenfield Hall is located at 343 Kings Highway East in Haddonfield. For more information, visit http://haddonfieldhistory.org/
