Time to learn at Wedgwood Elementary School

First-graders participate in a fun exercise to learn to tell time

Special to The Sun: Wedgwood first-graders (left to right) Alaina Aversa, Giovanni Conrad and Caitlin Smith show off the decorated wristwatches they made for a math activity on telling time.

Wedgwood Elementary School first-grade students in Mrs. Kristie Attardi and Mr. Domenick Renzi’s math class recently have been learning to tell time to the nearest hour and half hour.

The students decorated wristwatches, each containing a different time written on them. The students then walked around the classroom to read their classmates’ watches and record the different times. It was a fun way to practice an important first-grade math skill.
