Details for Washington Township’s Fourth of July festivities
It’s been 242 years since the colonies declared independence from tyrannical British rule. To celebrate Independence Day, Washington Township will hold its annual Fourth of July Parade and Fireworks Show.
The parade will start at 6:30 p.m. at the Washington Township High School’s 11–12 parking lot. From there, the parade will make a right onto Hurffville Cross-Keys Road, turn right onto Greentree Road, turn right onto Egg Harbor Road, turn right onto Ganttown Road, and end back at the high school on Hurffville Cross-Keys Road.
Children are encouraged to decorate their bicycles and ride in the parade. Prizes will be awarded and judging will take place at 5:45 p.m. in the 11–12 parking lot of the high school. If children are riding in the parade, they must wear a helmet. There is no registration required.
The township is looking for businesses and community organizations to be a part of the parade. If interested visit the same website for an application.
Food vendors and novelty items will be available in the 9–10 parking lot on the Ganttown Road side.

Official Washington Township Fourth of July T-shirts are available for purchase at the Parks and Recreation office in the Municipal Building and MBM Sports. The design for the shirt was originated by a Washington Township student.
The event will end with fireworks on the high school campus at 9 p.m. The rain date for the fireworks is July 5.
