Bethel United Methodist Church serves Gloucester County residents through Peter’s Pantry
Open on the fourth Saturday of every month, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the pantry provides individuals and families who may be eligible through government assistance programs, as well as those who may be experiencing hardships that prevent them from obtaining financial stability to provide food for themselves and their families, a place to supplement their food supply.
Public works projects heat up after Fourth of July holiday
On or about July 7 and 10, milling and paving will begin for the roadway surface of Ganttown Road/Chapel Heights, County Route 639, from the Egg Harbor Road County Route 630 to Theis Road. It is approximately one mile long and work will be completed at night with crews working from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. The contractor is South State Inc. Traffic control in place and will also have local police providing assistance. Detours are anticipated, but will allow traffic to flow in one direction during construction. There may be a complete detour during certain construction operations. Residents will have access to their driveways at all times.
Police seek information concerning weekend damages
Sometime between the evening of Friday, June 30 and the morning of Saturday, July 1, approximately $500 worth of damage was done to one of Washington Township Police Department’s radar message board. Vandals are reported to have cut the wiring harness to the electronic board located on Johnson Road. Anyone with information is asked to contact the detective bureau at (856) 589–0330.
