Voorhees Schools to see a boost in stateĀ aid
Both the Voorhees Township and Eastern Camden County Regional school districts will receive a boost in state aid this year, according to the projected state aid totals released by the New Jersey Department of Education lastĀ week.
Gov. Christie announced school aid would increase $135 million over last yearās appropriations, totaling $7.8 billion for schools across theĀ state.
Christie said the appropriations are the largest in state education in the history of NewĀ Jersey.

The Voorhees Township School Districtās funding increased by more than 8 percent over last yearās figures, jumping by $412,333.
Last year, the district received $5,066,556. The district will receive $5,478,889 to include in the proposed 2012ā2013 budget.
Throughout the month, Voorhees Township School Superintendent Raymond Brosel will present the 2012ā13 budget across the district. The public is invited to attend any of the meetings.
The first meeting will be held on March 14 at 7:30 p.m. at the Kresson School. On March 15, Brosel will present the budget at the Voorhees Middle School at 9:15 a.m. and at E.T. Hamilton at 2Ā p.m.
Residents are invited to learn more about the budget on March 20 at 7:30 p.m. at the Osage School and on March 22 at 7:30 p.m. at Signal HillĀ School.
A public hearing on the budget will be held on Wednesday, March 28 at 7:30 p.m. at the administration building, 329 RouteĀ 73.
The Eastern Camden County Regional School Districtās funding increased by more than 3 percent over last yearās figures, spiking by $279,272.
Last year, the district received $8,911,870. The district will receive $9,191,142 to include in the proposed 2012ā2013 budget.
With most school districts across the state opting to move school elections to November, budgets, at this point, are in infancyĀ stages.
Budgets, regardless, will still undergo a review by the county superintendent and a public hearing will beĀ held.
The deadline to submit a nominating petition to run for the board is now JuneĀ 5.
