Usual activity took place at the Voorhees Committee meeting on Monday, Nov. 12.
The committee approved the submission of a grant application that will allow “phase three” to be completed on Victor Boulevard from Briarwood Boulevard to Haddonfield-Berlin Road.
According to township business administrator Larry Spellman, the road’s project was divided into four phases, and the first two phases were completed in 2010 and 2011. The grant application approved at the meeting will allow the township engineer to submit the application to the state, he said.
The township hopes to get approved and begin construction by the summer of 2013, Spellman said.
The township approved funds from the New Jersey Department of Transportation High Way Safety Fund.
Approximately $7,340 was granted to the township police to help cover cost for additional traffic monitoring and safety equipment on Route 73, he said.
The police department will also receive $4,440 from the NJ Body Armor Replacement Fund Program.
Police Chief Lou Bordi said each vest cost approximately $700 per officer.
Maintenance bonds for Virtua Hospital, release of a maintenance deposit to Terre Verde Estates and a bond reduction for Lapid Ventures were also approved.
