Camden County Celebrates Older Americans Month

In recognition of Older Americans month, the Camden County Freeholder Board will host a Senior Prize Bingo Friday. Prizes will be awarded to the most patriotically dressed Senior Citizen.

Breakfast will be served and music will be provided by the Nostalgics.

“We invite seniors to join us and try their luck at this beloved game of chance,” said Freeholder Carmen Rodriguez, liaison to the Camden County Office on Aging. “The County celebrates Older Americans Month to give back to our elders and keep them positive, active and looking forward.”

Throughout May, the Freeholder Board has held Chair Yoga Classes, Free Senior Legal Workshops and a Senior Dance.

Each year since 1963, May has been a month to appreciate and celebrate the vitality and aspirations of older adults and their contributions to our communities. The theme for Older Americans Month, Unleash the Power of Age, has never been more fitting. Older Americans are productive, active, and influential members of society, sharing essential talents, wisdom, and life experience with their families, friends and neighbors.

Bingo will be held today, at 11 to noon at Winslow Township’s Bud Duble Senior Citizens Center on 33 Coopers Folly Road.
