Ceremonial groundbreaking event held last week

A new playground for Signal Hill School is expected be ready for the upcoming school year. Principal Sharon R. Stallings said, “Extensive planning over a two-year period ensured that the 186 registered young students, many with special needs will benefit from this project. Funding was through the combined efforts of our parent group fundraising, Community Education Recreation program, our district financing and a private donation.
A “symbolic groundbreaking” event was held on July 27 at which Superintendent Raymond Brosel, Assistant Superintendent for Business Frank DeBerardinis, Building and Grounds Director Clark Mathews, C.E.R. Coordinator Michael Redfearn, Signal Hill Parent Faculty Association President Peachie Moore and Stallings were present.
