The Tabernacle Sun wants to hear your sweetheart stories

Media companies and romance don’t often go hand in hand, but we started to change that over the last few years, and we want to go even further this year.

We are working on special, fabulously-romantic stories about local couples who have been together for impressively long times. But we’re looking for more.

We’re calling on you, the residents of this great town, to send in your special love story for us to share with everyone.

Send in your romantic story, and a high resolution photo of you and your special someone, to [email protected].

Magical Healing: Magic is the gift, you are the magic

“Magic is the gift. You are the magic.”

That is a quote commonly used by Paul Cohen and Will Fern, leaders of the Magical Healing program.

This nonprofit program aims to train school-aged children in magic and then contribute it back into the community by performing their tricks for seniors, struggling families and underprivileged children.

For the second year, the Tabernacle School District will select eight students to undergo a six-week training program, where they will be supplied with magic props and video tutorials to practice on their own after the 90–120 minute weekly class sessions.

Seneca swimmer heads to Saint Louis University with scholarship

Take a deep dive into the life of swimmer Abbey Miskiewicz, who has been involved in the sport since age 5.

Miskiewicz’s love for swimming was instinctual, becoming mesmerized by her first glimpse of swimmers at a local gym.

She signed up for the sport shortly after and even tried out other sports such as lacrosse, soccer and basketball, but nothing compared to how she felt in the water. Miskiewicz said it was a “no-brainer” when it came to choosing one path to pursue.

Miskiewicz’s dedication has paid off, allowing her to break six records at Seneca that have been held since the early 2000s, to be ranked in the top 16 in NJSIAA last year and to be participating in the NJSIAA Meet of Champions this year.

In addition, she has signed with Division 1 Saint Louis University with academic and athletic scholarships, where she will be starting her journey in the fall.
