Red Cross to host blood drive honoring nine-year-old Nico Cassabria

Gloucester Township is encouraged to give blood.

Nine-year-old Nico Cassabria was diagnosed with stage IV high risk neuroblastoma in 2010 at the age of three. After six months in remission, his cancer returned, and Nico’s battle continues today.

Nico’s family and friends are sponsoring an American Red Cross blood drive in his honor on Saturday, April 8 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Erial Fire Company, 1946 Williamstown Erial Road.

“Nico is a fighter. He has been fighting without complaint for close to seven years,” said Stephanie Cassabria, Nico’s mother.

To make an appointment to donate, call 1–800-RED CROSS or visit redcrossblood.org, sponsor code Nico Cassabria. Visit the Nico’s Army Facebook page here.
