The organization, which mentors 28 young men, needs your help benefitting Sicklerville youth.
Men Empowering Nations is dedicated to aiding and providing the young men of our communities an outlet away from violence and drugs. Since 2007, Men Empowering Nations (M.E.N.), a non-profit, faith-based organization, has provided support for many young men in our community through mentoring. M.E.N has developed a relationship between a mentor and mentee with the goal of sharing knowledge and expertise between the mentors and mentees. Many times, out of our own pockets, mentors have provided free transportation to social activities, college tours, cultural museums, science centers and community service events, in addition to finding scholarships and academic support materials. That’s why this program is made possible through the generous donations of caring and concerned leaders like you.
Last year, generous donations helped keep young men between the ages of 7 and 18 in Camden County off the streets. Most of these young men come from single parent, female led households with no male roles models. They face serious challenges from peer pressure, high unemployment and the rise in college tuition. We are very proud of our mentees and especially proud of mentee Nijean Snyder who’s been with us for ten years. Nijean is a high school senior who has been raised by his grandmother who brought him to M.E.N. Since joining our organization and with the help of our mentor group, Snyer had developed great social skills, an outstanding academic record in school and participated in many community service activities and has recently been offered a full scholarship to Montclair University.
We are currently mentoring 28 young men but, as you know, the need is far greater. Activities and events are currently supported by $2,300.00, from the Winslow Township Municipal Drug and Alcohol Alliance and the Governors’ Council on Alcoholism & Drug Abuse on a yearly basis. However, most of our funding comes from private donations.
As a 501(3)-c organization any donation you make is a tax deductible. We ask that you consider becoming a M.E.N. Sponsor with a $100 donation. However, any donation you make will be greatly appreciated, and we thank you in advance for your support! You’ll never know where your generous influence ends! Please make checks payable to Men Empowering Nations, and mail them to: M.E.N., P.O. Box 515, Sicklerville, NJ, 08081.
