Burlington Township Fire Department moves from Class 4 to Class 3
The Burlington Township Fire Department has received notification from Insurance Services Office that an analysis of the structural fire suppression delivery system provided in the community has been completed. The results of the analysis indicate that ISO’s Public Protection Classification for Burlington Township has improved from the current Class 4 to Class 3. The new classification is effective May 1. Fire elections will be held on Saturday, Feb. 18 from 2 to 9 p.m. at the Fire District Headquarters.
Nonprofit seeks to build homeless housing in Burlington Township
Nonprofit organization Citizens Serving the Homeless is looking to build 60 units to house the homeless in Burlington Township. However, it is facing some resistance from residents. The purchased site is between the Church of the Nazarene and Casamari Italian Restaurant on Sunset Road. While the plan is still in its preliminary phases, CSTH President Madelyn Mears-Sheldon says the lot will include only individual units of approximately 288 square feet, so only singles will be living there.
