RCBC soccer player goes D1

Rowan College at Burlington County soccer player Orlando Neto, of Cliffside Park, signed a letter of intent to play Division I soccer at Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, Oklahoma today.

“In his two years at RCBC, Orlando served as one of the team captains. He was a leader on and off the field,” said RCBC men’s soccer head coach Craig Dewar. “We are always proud when a Baron goes on to play NCAA Division I at a four-year school. We are especially proud of Orlando’s athletic and academic achievements at RCBC. We are looking forward to seeing what he accomplishes at Oral Roberts.”

Neto, who maintains a 3.65 GPA, scored 23 goals and 27 assists and played in 28 games the last two seasons at RCBC. During his time playing with the Barons, he was named to National Soccer Coaches Association of America All-East and twice named to First Team All-Region XIX, as well as First Team All-Garden State Athletic Conference.

“I chose to attend RCBC so that I could be a part of a strong soccer team and receive a great education. To receive this type of offer is a dream come true,” Neto said. “I would like to thank my coaches, teammates and athletics staff for supporting me in my two years at RCBC.”

Orlando will play Division I soccer for Oral Roberts University head coach Ryan Bush and assistant coach Chris Taylor this fall.
