As a resident of Shamong, I am writing to express my appreciation of the fine job our public works department recently did in removing the +/- 16" of snow during last week’s storm.
The Shamong department of public works consists of only three full-time employees: Norman “Snooky” Welsh, Gary Welsh and Steve Mitchell.
Despite their small numbers and limited budget, our public works department has consistently provided us with virtually snow-free roads within hours of a storm event for many years.
As a result, our township’s families can continue their busy daily routines after a storm in confidence without the fear of unnecessary risk or inconvenience that the residents of many neighboring towns experience.
Thank you for contributing to the quality of life that we all enjoy in Shamong!
