Committee reverses decision to remove Main Street tree at recent meeting
After weeks of conversation and deliberation with the community and Harrison Township Historical Society, the township committee voted unanimously to rescind its decision to cut down and replace the 65-foot-tall tree located next to the Old Town Hall Museum, most popularly known as the Lights on Main Christmas tree.
Celebrating new beginnings
The Mullica Hill Jewish community began a month of celebration, reflection and unity last week with the occurrence of Rosh Hashanah from sundown on Wednesday, Sept. 20 to nightfall on Thursday, Sept. 21. Within the following weeks through October, members of the religious community observe 10 days of reflection followed by Yom Kippur, as well as the festive holidays of Sukkot and Simchat Torah. At the Chabad of Gloucester County, a number of services will be held, as well as the opportunity to participate in the religion’s traditional rituals for the growing Jewish community in Mullica Hill.
Chelsea Rose Westermann, Matthew Costello announce engagement
Chelsea Rose Westermann, of Mullica Hill, and Matthew Costello, of Marlton, were engaged on July 1. The two are planning a Feb. 25, 2018 wedding at Saint Patrick’s Church in Woodbury, with a reception to follow at Brigalias in Williamstown.
