The Mt. Laurel Library is celebrating Black History Month in February with an African Drum and Dance concert on Sunday, Feb. 8 at 2 p.m. and a film screening of “I Am Ali” on Thursday, Feb. 12 at 2 p.m. These events are free and open to the public. No registration is needed.
Universal African Dance and Drum Ensemble will be performing at the Feb. 8 concert. Fifteen dancers and drummers of all ages will be performing. Interested attendees will also be able to learn a few dance moves and drumming tips at the end of the performance. This concert is part of the library’s Second Sunday Concert Series.
The documentary “I Am Ali” features unprecedented access to Muhammad Ali’s personal archive of “audio journals” as well as interviews and testimonials from his inner circle of family and friends are used to tell the legend’s life story.
