A Mt. Laurel School District bus was involved in an accident on April 21 after the driver experienced a medical emergency.
The accident took place at about 3:45 p.m. on Lenape Court close to Springville Elementary School. There were 12 students on the bus at the time of the accident. The driver radioed into the school district’s transportation supervisor moments before the accident stating he was experience a medical emergency. The bus went over the curb and into a yard, where the vehicle stopped.
No students were injured in the accident. The driver was transported to the hospital and was reportedly conscious and talking. Staff members rode on the bus route and counselors were available for students the following morning.
