Antoinette Minors-Ferguson was appointed to the position on Dec. 13
BURLINGTON TOWNSHIP — The Burlington Township Board of Education recently accepted the resignation of longtime board member Israel “Izzy” Rivera. Rivera was honored during the November BOE meeting.
His resignation is effective Dec. 31, leaving a vacant seat on the board for a one-year unexpired term.
At the public work session on Dec. 13, the board appointed Antoinette Minors-Ferguson to the position of board member for the unexpired term, which runs from Jan. 1, 2018 to Dec. 31, 2018.
This appointment will be re-affirmed at the meeting to be held on Dec. 20. Minors-Ferguson recently ran for election to the board and was the candidate with the most votes not elected to fill a seat. The board took this into consideration when making its determination.
