The Department of Parks and Recreation is currently seeking volunteers for spring and summer programs.

The Department of Parks & Recreation is gearing up for spring and summer, and in addition to the multitude of programs that will be available to youth, teens and adults, there are also a great variety of volunteer programs available. Over the last two years, the development and expansion of recreation volunteer opportunities has occurred, allowing advocates of recreation to volunteer their time.
With spring and summer around the corner, volunteers are needed for the wide variety of youth programs that are available. From coaches for summer basketball league, volunteer youth referees and volunteers with the 3rd Floor Café Live, the Department of Parks & Recreation has volunteer opportunities for youth and adults alike.
For youth volunteers, there are a wide variety of programs in which to volunteer. Every summer the counselor in training jobs program trains a wide spectrum of young people in recreation programs. These same young people are often looking for volunteer opportunities during the school year. Additionally, the many non-profit organizations that partner with the Department of Parks & Recreation utilize volunteers in a variety of ways. Young people interested in volunteering with the department are encouraged to contact Pat Brodie at [email protected] and request a volunteer application. From sports, arts classes, clinics and special events, young people can volunteer and earn service hours for their time.
For adults interested in volunteering with the department there is a simple process. Contact Theresa Miller and set up an appointment to complete a State of New Jersey background check. Once the background check has been completed, volunteering is simple — whether with youth sports leagues or at the Church Street Recreation Center, there are plenty of opportunities available. For businesses seeking volunteer team building days, the department has plenty of opportunities as well.
Volunteering with the Moorestown Department of Parks & Recreation is a fun and active way to be involved in the Moorestown Community. For more information, please contact the Department of Parks and Recreation at (856)914-3093.
