Moorestown Lawyer takes the stand for women and young girls

Manuela Morais has made it her mission to empower women and minorities in South Jersey. With more than 20 years practicing law under her belt, Morais has spent much of her time mentoring young women in the legal field. As a recent appointee to the Girl Scouts of Central and South New Jersey Board of Directors, Morais is hoping to mentor young women beyond the scope of the law, and she she is looking forward to helping build girls of courage, confidence and character who make the world a better place.

A ‘ride for those who died’

For four days, police officers from across the country take a ride. Local officers pedal more than 200 miles from Florham Park to Washington, D.C., in tribute to members of the police force who have died in the line of duty. Over the last 10 years, the Moorestown Township Police Department has assembled a group of around 20 people from different jurisdictions to ride in the Police Unity Tour, according to Ptl. George Hubel.

A love for learning: Leisa Karanjia reflects on two decades at South Valley

Leisa Karanjia said thinks she knew on some level even then she wanted to spend her career in education For the last 20 years, Karanjia’s constant goal as principal of South Valley has been to help every student to cultivate their own love for school, and as she leaves the Moorestown school district this June to start the next chapter in her life, she said she feels very fortunate to have had the opportunity to meet so many teachers, students and families who share this same passion.
