Commuters that haven’t already looked outside might be in for a snowy shock as up to one-inch of snow blanketed parts of South Jersey this morning. Travelers can expect to add at least 10 minutes cleaning off the car, in addition to the 20 to 30 minutes they should add for travel.
Major roads, as well as unsholved sidewalks and parking lots, may be slippery this morning. And most major roadways are slow going.
The snow could taper off by noon, however a slight chance remains of further precipitation throughout the day. Forecasts are calling for more winter weather, beginning early Saturday morning and ending around dinnertime.
The Burlington County Health Department has issued a Code Blue Cold Weather Emergency warning for all of Burlington County.
According to a statement from the county, the Code Blue will go into effect this evening and will remain in effect until Monday, Jan. 10 at 10 a.m.
A Code Blue declaration means that winter conditions pose a threat of serious harm or death to individuals without shelter. The emergency code provides short-term emergency sheltering.

The Burlington County Office on Aging has announced it has postponed is senior meals program at its nutrition site in Moorestown for Friday, Jan. 7 because of the predicted snowstorm.
The Meals on Wheels Program of delivered meals to home-bound seniors and to the Samuel Miller Home in Mount Holly will operate as scheduled.
The paratransit transportation service for seniors and those with disabilities will operate a limited service that includes Veterans Transportation, employment transportation for those with disabilites, non-emergency medical trips and shopping service.

All six BurLink fixed routes that connect to the NJTransit RiverLINE and NJTransit bus service are scheduled to operate.
