The story behind the buildings

Listen up history buffs, here your chance to learn a bit more about Moorestown by getting to know its architecture.

The Moorestown Improvement Association is holding their Spring 2011 Historic Guided Walking Tour on Sunday, May 1 at 1 p.m. The rain date is May 15.

The tour will meet in the parking lot behind Wells Fargo Bank on Second Street. From there, the tour will include East Second Street, Mill Street to Third Street and French’s Avenue.

The tour features examples of one of Moorestown’s few remaining attached row homes, and shows how this hardworking neighborhood connected this farming town to both Main Street and local industry. The tour highlights buildings’ architectural interest and contribution to Moorestown history.

The tour will last approximately 90 minutes. Attendees should wear comfortable shoes and bring a water bottle. There is a $5 suggested donation for MIA members, $15 individual, and $20 family.

Those interested can pre-register at [email protected] or call Dave Schill at (856) 234–2273.
