Kids helping kids

A Moorestown group is joining forces with The Canuso Foundation, of Haddonfield, for a kids-helping-kids campaign that will raise funds for special needs campers in Moorestown.

The Moorestown Department of Parks and Recreation’s annual special needs summer camp is being funded and supported this year through a collaborative effort from The Canuso Foundation and the Sibling of Special Needs Kids club at Moorestown Upper Elementary School, which was started by guidance counselor Arline Conigliaro.

The groups are teaming up with Carlo’s Bake Shop in Hoboken, of TLC’s Cake Boss fame, which is selling crumb cakes, apple pies and Italian cookies in support of The Canuso Foundation’s second annual Chicken Run in Haddonfield. Funds raised through the sale of the baked good will be used toward making Moorestown’s special needs summer camp happen.

Those who want to support the cause can pre-order cakes, pies, or cookies from Carlo’s Bake Shop by May 14 and then pick them up at the Canuso Foundation tent during the on May 20 Chicken Run in Haddonfield.

For more information or to place your order for Carlo’s Bake Shop goods, visit www.canusofoundation.org.
