Letter: Garwood and Napolitano thank voters

With the final votes counted, we are humbled and honored to write to you as your councilmembers-elect. We are proud of the vigorous and issue-based campaign we ran, and we are unbelievably grateful for the outpouring of support we received over the last eight months from all parts of town. We are especially thankful to our families, friends and campaign volunteers whose support never wavered and who stood by us through thick and thin. As we transition from campaigning to governance, we are acutely aware that our town is at a critical crossroads. Our town faces difficult challenges, but we are excited to roll-up our sleeves and get to work.

We congratulate councilman-elect Greg Newcomer on his hard-fought victory, and we believe that he is as eager as we are to place politics aside and serve the people of Moorestown. We look forward to serving with him, councilwoman Stacey Jordan, and councilman Chris Chiacchio come January.

We thank our running mate and good friend, Pete Palko, for placing himself and his family through the ups and downs of running for office, and we wish him all the best. While we are disappointed that he will not be joining us on council, we know that Pete will continue to serve our community in the many ways that he always has and will remain a strong voice for our town.

As we commend our running mate, we also extend our best regards to Brian Sattinger and Mark Hines, who are both passionate community activists and good, decent men who care about our town. We thank them for running, and wish them well in future endeavors.

Both of us deeply appreciate the trust that the people of Moorestown have placed in us, and we look forward to serving as your representatives on town council. We will work every day to find bipartisan answers to our town’s problems, to create solutions instead of friction, and to move Moorestown forward by using the spirit of community that has made our town such an amazing place to live.

-Phil Garwood and Victoria Napolitano
