Roberts Literacy Night holds its first reading event

The first of four Literacy Nights was held Wednesday, Feb. 27 and attended by a happy crowd of students and parents eager to learn more about how to better engage children through reading. Roberts Literacy Night is an opportunity for families to come in and enjoy all of the services available through the Roberts school library. The children were able to return their library books, as well as check out new books. Bridget Potts, a first grade teacher at Roberts, then read a book to the children and modeled some literacy activities that families can try at home. Lastly, Bridget provided parents and guardians with literacy resources while the children enjoyed a light snack. Future Literacy Nights for Roberts’s students will be held on Wednesday, March 27, April 24 and May 29, from 5:30 to 6:30. If you have any questions about Roberts Literacy Nights please contact Bridget B. Potts at [email protected].
