UPDATE: According to the township’s Nixle announcement, the natural gas leak at the mall has been resolved and will open within the hour. PSEG technicians are currently checking the gas meters at the mall and East Gate stores.
Residents are urged to avoid the Moorestown Mall and surrounding East Gate stores.
According to the Moorestown Township’s Nixle announcement construction workers struck a gas line at approximately 8:30 a.m. in the parking lot south of Macy’s.
The mall and surrounding East Gate stores have been evacuated. PSEG is responding to repair the gas line.
