Moorestown forms FIRST Robotics team

Earlier this month, parents and students of Moorestown High School gathered to see Nate Knauss, Technology teacher at Cherokee High School and leader of their FIRST Robotics program, demonstrate Team STORM’s 2013 robot Electra.

Students of the newly formed Moorestown team will design and build a robot, competing at local, regional and national competitions.

The meeting was attended by around 70 parents and students, who got to drive Electra in the corridor as she shot Frisbees at targets.

FIRST — For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology — is a global organization involving 250,000 students who are motivated to pursue education and career opportunities in science, technology, engineering, and math, while building self-confidence, knowledge, and life skills.
