Program helps protect residents in the summer heat

The Contact Assistance and Referral Program is open to all seniors who live in Burlington Township.

The Burlington Township Police Department is reminding residents of a program aimed at keeping seniors and other vulnerable individuals safe in the summer heat.

Members of the Burlington Township Police Department and CERT team make calls to those signed up for the program during extreme heat to make sure they are safe. If they can’t reach the resident or designated emergency contact, the department will send an officer to their home to check on them.

The Contact Assistance and Referral Program is open to all seniors who live in Burlington Township. To sign up, residents have to fill out a form, which is available at the police station, online at burltwppd.com or via delivery by an officer. For more information, call the police department at (609) 386–1000.
