Moorestown’s Carly E. Kramer is appointed president of Elizabeth Haddon Society of Children of American Revolution

Carly E. Kramer, a seventh grade student at William Allen Middle School in Moorestown, was recently appointed to the position of president of the Elizabeth Haddon Society of the National Society of the Children of the American Revolution (CAR). Carly represented the Elizabeth Haddon Society at the 86th annual state conference held on Mar. 12 at the Mountain View Golf Course in Ewing.

The Elizabeth Haddon Society won the following contests: first place for Conservation, third place for Promotional Advancement, second place for Fostering Enthusiasm, and third place for Historian. Jason Kramer, a second grader at Baker Elementary School in Moorestown, received third place for Patriotic Education for his drawing of Benjamin Franklin.

The Children of the American Revolution is the oldest patriotic organization in the United States for youth age 22 and younger with a direct line of descent from a patriot who fought for independence during the American Revolution. Carly’s ancestor is Godfrey Shronk, a Philadelphia patriot who fought with the local militia.
