Incumbents Susan Eichmann and Donna Custard will keep their school board seats while challenger Jack Newman will fill the third seat
Unofficial election results are in for Burlington Township.
Incumbents Carl Schoenberg (D), E.L. Pete Green (D), Patricia Siboczy (D) and Robert Jung (D) all ran unopposed for the four open seats on town council.
Schoenberg received the most votes with 6,582 votes, totaling 25.60 percent. Green received 6,457 votes, 25.11 percent, Siboczy received 6,343 votes, 24.68 percent, and Jung received 6,300 votes, 24.50 percent. Thirty-three voters chose to write in a candidate.
Incumbents Susan Eichmann and Donna Custard and newcomer Jack H. Newman won election to the board of education’s three open seats over challenger Lisa Bungarden.
Eichmann overwhelmingly received the most votes at 4,658 votes, or 30.63 percent. Custard received 4,040 votes, 26.56 percent, and Newman receive 3,439 votes, 22.61 percent. Bungarden received 3,039 votes, totaling 19.98 percent. Thirty-two voters chose to write in a candidate for school board.
In the 3rd Congressional District of the House of Representatives, incumbent Republican Tom MacArthur won over Democrat Frederick John LaVergne and Lawrence W. Berlinski, Jr. of the Constitution Party for the one open seat. MacArthur received 52.81 percent of the votes.
Burlington County Board of Chosen Freeholders Republican incumbent Latham “Robert” Tiver received the most votes over Democrat Reva Foster, with 51.48 percent of the votes. The county sheriff will remain the same with Republican incumbent Jean Stanfield receiving 52.13 percent of the vote over Democratic challenger James H. Kostoplis.
For county surrogate, Freeholder and Republican Mary Ann O’Brien received 51.64 percent of the vote with Democrat Sander Friedman receiving 48.34 percent of the vote.
The first statewide referendum question that asked if voters approved of amending the state constitution to permit casino gambling in North Jersey did not pass, with 78 percent of voters opposed.
The second referendum question that asked if voters approved of amending the state constitution to dedicate all revenue from the state motor fuels tax and petroleum products gross receipts tax to the Transportation Trust Fund passed by a slight margin, passed with 54 percent of voters approving.
The unofficial results do not include mail-in or provisional ballots.
