The Historical Society of Moorestown, in conjunction with the Moorestown Library, announces “New Jersey’s Multiple Municipal Madness,” a talk presented by Michael DiCamillo on Wednesday, January 18 at 7 p.m. The site will be the Moorestown Library, located at 111 W 2nd Street, in Meeting Room A.
Michael DiCamillo, vice president of the Moorestown Historical Society, will discuss Alan Karcher’s book, “Multiple Municipal Madness,” which details how and why New Jersey divided itself again and again to accommodate a variety of differences amongst groups of New Jersey residents.
Among other things, DiCamillo will describe the case of Chester Township, which, over time, was sliced and diced to form Riverside, Riverton, Palmyra, Delran, Maple Shade, Cinnaminson and Moorestown. Historic New Jersey maps will also be on display.
Admission is free, and refreshments will be served.
