Moorestown Garden Club flourishes at Philadelphia Flower Show
The 63-year-old Moorestown Garden Club is flourishing yet again, bringing home three blue ribbons at the Philadelphia Flower Show last month. Both the club and its members have won several ribbons at the show since the club’s founding in 1954.
Moorestown considers replacing old Main Street parking meters with kiosks
It’s no secret that most of the parking meters on Main Street don’t work. Despite this, many residents aren’t completely sold on the idea of replacing them.
During a parking meeting held by the Moorestown Economic Development Advisory Committee last week, a few residents called the replacement effort a “money grab.” Others were concerned over where Main Street residents will park when parking rules are more heavily enforced.
Moorestown native honored at Rowan University
Rowan University athletics honored 272 student-athletes at its annual Student-Athlete Day on Monday, April 3. The presentation was held in the Eynon Ballroom in the Chamberlain Student Center. Rowan recognized these individuals because they achieved a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher. This year, 147 student-athletes accumulated a GPA of 3.4 or higher and 125 had a GPA between 3.0 and 3.39.
Moorestown native Courtney Bodine, a sophomore Elementary Education major and lacrosse player at the university, was among those recognized.
Department of Parks and Recreation diversifying camp counselor program
Each summer, the Department of Parks and Recreation hosts a variety of summer programs that meet the needs of all Moorestown youth. From the summer parks program and summer theater to specialized camps that focus on the numerous specialties offered through the department, there are a wide variety of opportunities made available to local children.
MFS offers new summer program for toddlers
A new Moorestown Friends School summer programs offering in 2017 is Tot Scholars for 3- and 4-year-old children. All sessions take place from 9:15–11 a.m and cost for each session is $200/week with early morning extended day service available from 7:45–9:15 a.m. for an additional fee.
