A Camden man has been arrested for allegedly committing sexual assault on two individuals, one of the incidents occurring in Medford.
Camden County Prosecutor Warren W. Faulk, Burlington County Prosecutor Robert D. Bernardi, and Medford Township Police Executive Officer Captain Keith McIninch reported the arrest of Steven Young, of the 1100 block of Lakeshore Drive in Camden.
Young was arrested and charged on Tuesday in Camden County with first degree sexual assault, and three, second degree prohibited sexual acts with a minor.
Young allegedly engaged in sexual acts on a female minor on various dates in 2009 and 2010. These acts took place while the victim was in his care, custody, and control.
Young has also been charged in Burlington County with two counts of first degree aggravated sexual assault. The companion investigation began after the Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office was contacted by the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office and a cooperative effort began with Medford Township Police detectives.
The investigation revealed that in 2009, Young was assigned to care for a physically incapacitated adult male in Medford Township. On two occasions, Young performed sexual acts on the victim while the victim was in his care.
Young is professionally licensed as a practical nurse. He has been employed in that capacity by four temporary employment agencies over the course of the past seven years.
Young is currently lodged in the Camden County Correctional facility.
