Left behind after the high winds of Hurricane Irene were branches and fallen trees throughout Medford Township.
Township Manager Christopher Schultz announced today that the township will make every effort to assist residents in disposing of the brush and trees. A private contractor has been hired by the township to begin picking up brush next week.
Residents must have all brush, limbs, and trees curbside by Tuesday September 6.
“Every effort will be made to remove this debris as quickly as possible, however we ask that residents be patient,” Schultz said. “We expect to be complete brush pickup operations within approximately four weeks.”
The township garage facility on Commonwealth Drive will also be open for residents to drop off brush Monday through Friday between 7 a.m. and 2 p.m., with extended hours on Thursday until 7 p.m.
Medford Township Emergency Management Coordinator Lt. Jeffrey Wagner reported that damage assessments will continue through the week as the Office of Emergency Management works with the Burlington County O.E.M. and the State O.E.M. to obtain assistance from the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
