Medford officers run for special olympics

On Friday, June 8, members of the Medford Township Police Department joined officers from Medford Lakes, Evesham, Lumberton, and the Department of Homeland Security to run the 19th leg of the New Jersey Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics. The run began in Marlton at the ShopRite and ended 20 miles later at the ShopRite in Lumberton, making stops along the way in Evesham, Medford Lakes, Medford and Lumberton.

The Law Enforcement Torch Run is part of an international campaign for Special Olympics coordinated and managed by all divisions of Law Enforcement officers and officials from throughout the world whose mission is to raise dollars and awareness of the Special Olympics movement worldwide. The statewide Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics New Jersey has been recognized in the world for many years as one of the top grassroots fundraising organizations for Special Olympics.
