At 5:51 p.m. on Nov. 4, Medford Twp. Police were dispatched to a “hit and run” motor vehicle crash in Sharps Run Plaza on Route 70. The reporting party observed a black pickup truck collide with a parked motor vehicle and drive away. A vehicle description and license plate was provided to the responding officer.
At 6:06 p.m., Police were dispatched to an unconscious subject sitting in a black pickup truck stopped in the lane of travel at Stokes Road and Schoolhouse Drive. Police identified the driver as 28-year-old male of Breckenridge Drive in Shamong Township.
During the investigation, Police observed a loaded Colt .357 Magnum handgun wedged between the passenger front seat and center console. The weapon was loaded with prohibited hollow-point bullets. The male was subsequently arrested by Police without incident.
He was issued numerous motor vehicle violations for driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, leaving the scene of an accident and failure to report an accident; in addition to criminal complaints for the unlawful possession of a handgun, possession of hollow point bullets and possession of drug paraphernalia. His bail was set at $44,000 with 10 percent authorized.
