Medford church holding Blessing of the Animals on Oct. 6

The Medford United Methodist Church will be honoring pets again this year with a Blessing of the Animals service.

This annual October service recalls St. Francis of Assisi, who celebrated the presence of God in creation.

Come give thanks for a pet at this service at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 6 on church grounds at 2 Hartford Road in Medford. In case of rain, the service will move into the church’s fellowship hall.

All friendly animals are welcome on leashes or in carriers to ensure they are safe in a crowd.
