As the institution prepares the framework for its new strategic plan, Rowan College at Burlington County invites the community to provide input at an open forum on Tuesday, Nov. 17.
The new strategic plan will provide a roadmap for the college through the year 2020 and include strategies to build upon a number of transformative changes the college has launched this year.
“It is important that the strategic planning process is one that is both open and inclusive,” said RCBC Senior Vice President and Provost Dr. David Spang, who is charged with leading the college’s strategic planning efforts. “Rowan College at Burlington County values the community’s participation in the planning process and invites anyone with an interest in the future growth and development of the college to attend the forum. Your input is critical to our success.”
With so many of college’s major changes underway, the next five-year strategic plan will prove to be a most important guide for the future.
“This new strategic plan will be a comprehensive document that will inform the decision-making process at the college for the next five years,” said RCBC President Paul Drayton. “We are building a strong foundation for the future of Rowan College at Burlington County and this strategic plan is a shared vision on how we will continue to develop a national model of higher education in Burlington County.”
The forum will be held from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 17 in the at the Mt. Laurel campus in Laurel Hall, room 320. Guests are asked to RSVP at rcbc.edu/community-forum.
The strategic plan is the final piece of the five-point transformation plan that President Drayton initiated this spring. The other points include:
A new partnership with Rowan University that will guarantee alumni acceptance into most university programs and create a path toward a $30,000 bachelor’s degree for Rowan University programs offered online or on RCBC’s Mt. Laurel campus.
The college is modernizing the Mt. Laurel campus, which accommodates more attendance than all other campuses combined. The college will achieve greater efficiencies while unifying the college on the campus where most students and four-year college partners are located.
The new Workforce Development Institute is a national model of shared services among government and education that is providing workforce education and training programs, to provide the skills that students, employers and workers need now and into the future.
A new management structure prioritizes academics, student success and workforce development.
“We have achieved a lot for our students in the last few months,” Drayton said. “The 2020 Strategic Plan will ensure we continue to build on this momentum and keep heading in the right direction for the next five years.”
