Burlington County Prosecutor Robert D. Bernardi and Evesham Township Police Chief Christopher Chew announced that a 52-year-old Evesham resident who is employed as a public high school teacher in Cumberland County was arrested and charged with possession of child pornography.
The male was charged with one count of endangering welfare of children in the third degree.
The case will be presented to a Burlington County Grand Jury to determine whether an indictment should be returned against the defendant.
The male was taken into custody at his residence following the execution of a search warrant.
He was placed in the Burlington County Jail on $15,000Â bail.
The male is employed as a biology teacher at Cumberland Regional High School in Bridgeton.
The investigation revealed that the male used an online cloud service to upload photos and videos depicting child pornography.
Many of the images depicted pre-pubescent and underage boys engaging in sexual acts.
The investigation was conducted by the Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office High-Tech Crimes Unit, the Cumberland County Prosecutor’s Office, the Evesham Township Police Department and the New Jersey State Police Digital Technology Investigations Unit, which oversees the NJSP Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force.
The Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office High-Tech Crimes Unit and the Cumberland County Prosecutor’s Office are members of the ICAC Task Force.
