Weekly Roundup: Election Results, no ‘I voted’ stickers and Veterans Day

The students at Cherokee High School recently pulled off a big accomplishment with their win of the 2016 USBands Group IVA New Jersey State Championship. Read how students wowed judges and other audience members with a performance based on the works and life of Ludwig van Beethoven.

Taunton Lake Road bridge repair project postponed

The Taunton Lake Road Bridge Repair Project has been postponed. Originally, the project was set to begin on or about Nov. 9 and was expected to last until on or about Wednesday, Nov. 23. The project has been tentatively rescheduled for April of 2017.

2016 Election Results

Election Day turned into a good night for Republicans in Evesham, as incumbents Ken D’Andrea and Robert DiEnna were re-elected to the two open seats on Evesham Township Council. The wins by D’Andrea, the current deputy mayor, and DiEnna, mean council will continue with its full, five-seat Republican majority.

No election stickers in Burlington County

The well-known “I Voted” stickers were not in the county’s budget this year. One of this year’s top trends among social media users includes taking photos showing off the infamous “I Voted” stickers across a variety of platforms such as Instagram and SnapChat.

Evesham officials honor veterans on Veterans Day

Evesham’s elected officials, residents and veterans all gathered together in front of the municipal building on Veterans Day to honor veterans across the nation, as well as those in Evesham Township. During the ceremony the township also specifically honored veterans James DaGastine, William Gershen, Thomas J. O’Callahan and Thomas Sustek, who all became part of the Evesham Township Veterans Commemorative Walkway in front of the municipal building.
