Evesham Police arrest home burglary suspect, all stolen proceeds returned to victim

Steven Garcia, age 24, of Gloucester City, was charged with third-degree burglary and third-degree theft.

The following report is on file with the Evesham Township Police Department:

On Dec. 17, at 1 p.m., the Evesham Police Department responded to a home in the 500 block of Kettlerun Road for a home burglary.

Police say the investigation determined that a suspect had entered the victim’s home through an unlocked first floor window while the homeowner was away for an hour. A chainsaw and leaf-blower were stolen from the property.

Evesham Detectives responded to Camden County pawnshops and located the victim’s property. A suspect was then identified and arrested a short time later at his home in Gloucester City. At 2:45 p.m., the burglary suspect was arrested and all property that was stolen was returned to the victim.

Arrested:

Steven Garcia, age 24, of Gloucester City, was charged with third-degree burglary and third-degree theft. He was lodged in the Burlington County Jail in default of bail.
