Board of Education President Seth Klukoff announced that the Board has selected seven candidates to interview for the position of Superintendent of Schools. The Board will conduct the interviews in executive session on Jan. 18, 19, and 20.
The Board would conduct a second round of interviews in early February, currently scheduled for Feb. 1 to 3.
Finalists selected from the second round of interviews will then participate in meetings with various district and community stakeholder groups later this year.
The selection process began last fall with community input sessions in which participants shared their views on the strengths, background, training, and experience that the new superintendent should possess, as well as the concerns, ongoing issues, and future initiatives that the new superintendent will face in our district. Input from these focus group sessions was used to shape a variety of candidate review documents and interview questions that will be used throughout the process.
Assisting the Board with the Superintendent search process is Gwen Thornton of New Jersey School Boards Association.
