Chris Mourtos, of Medford, died June 6 following a battle with lung cancer. He had been diagnosed only six weeks prior to his passing.

Mourtos owned the Coastline nightclub in Cherry Hill for about 33 years.

Tonight, July 12, his family, friends, and co-workers are gathering at the Brace Road site for an evening that pays tribute to him.

The evening will feature a food buffet, music by the club’s house DJ and $2 drink specials from 7 to 9 p.m.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the newly established Chris Mourtos Scholarship Fund. The fund was created for the Shawnee Endzone Club at Shawnee High School in Medford.
