Cops: Elderly man involved in hit and run

The following is on file with the Evesham Police Department:

On Oct. 9 at 8:12 p.m. Evesham Police conducted a motor vehicle stop along East Main Street near Knox Boulevard inĀ Marlton.

During this investigation, the officer noticed heavy damage to the 1997 blue Ford Taurus on the front passenger side. The damage is consistent with the vehicle striking a pedestrian.

The driver, an 81-year-old Cherry Hill resident, recalled striking something but was unsure of what and unsureĀ where.

According to Sargent Joseph Friel, helicopters and dogs searched the surrounding area for a possible victim, in addition to calling local-area hospitals with noĀ success.

The Evesham Police Department is asking anyone who saw a 1997 blue Ford Taurus stopped along the side of the roadway or witnessed a collision to contact us at (856) 983ā€“1116, or via email at [email protected]

We are also seeking information on any missing people who could have been involved in a pedestrian collision and whose whereabouts are stillĀ unknown.

The location of this collision could have been within a one-hour radius of the Cherry Hill Mall. The collision could have occurred anytime between 6 p.m. and 8:12 p.m. on Oct.Ā 9.
