Student entertainers at Cherry Hill East look forward to their eighth annual Coffee House fundraiser Saturday, Jan. 19.
This year’s proceeds will be donated to the Millie Schembechler Fund for Adrenal Cancer Research.
East’s Coffee House is a caffeinated evening of exclusively student talent and features everything from dramatic musical numbers to comedy acts. Coffee House is one of East vocal director Laurie Lausi’s favorite events.
“It allows our students to take the stage for a cause to better their community,” she said. “This particular Coffee House is special because we’re honoring one of our incredible staff members, Charlie Musumeci. ‘Moose’ truly embodies school spirit here at East and has contributed so much to many areas including sports, theater, music, and general school spirit.”
Musumeci is the reason that this year’s theme for Coffee House is “Come Together,” a nod to the Beatles song as well as the linking of sports and the arts that Musumeci champions at East.
The Millie Schembechler Fund was chosen as the charity because Musumeci is currently battling Adrenal cancer.
All ages are welcome.
Tickets to Coffee House are $5, and the event will be held in East’s cafeterias.
If you can’t attend but would like to make a contribution, please send a check payable to CHHSE Coffee House c/o Laurie Lausi, Cherry Hill High School East, 1750 Kresson Road, Cherry Hill, N.J. 08003.
People who would like to donate baked goods toward the bake sale may do so and drop them off at the East communication desk during school hours on Jan. 18, or to the East cafeteria on Jan. 19, between 1 and 3 p.m.
Baked goods should be bagged to sell for $1. Please label if there are nuts.
