Players from Cherry Hill East and West visited second and third graders through Cherry Hill school to teach the students about being a good teammate.
On Tuesday, Nov. 20, coaches and student-athletes from the Cherry Hill East and Cherry Hill West girls and boys high school lacrosse programs visited second and third graders in the town’s elementary schools to teach young students about “Being a Great Teammate.”
The initiative was called “Read Lacrosse America.” The student-athletes read “The Hard Hat for Kids” by Jon Gordon, an inspiring story that teaches children how to be a great teammate. The book teaches the “10 Ways to be a Great Teammate” and the “We before Me” philosophy. The assembly ended with a team building activity called the Rattlesnake Relay where children held hands and had to maneuver through a hula-hoop together.
