Cherry Hill Health and Racquet Club will host its annual “Ladies Evening” from 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 12, with all proceeds benefitting “Gift of Life,” a charity that matches donors with patients with life-threatening illness.
Although it’s called “Ladies Evening,” both men and women will be able to dance, check out new fashions and receive a little pampering, too. Suede Salon & Spa in Marlton, will be doing complimentary hair and make-up.
CHHRC will be sponsoring a special “Speed Swabbing” where guests can be tested to see if they are matches for bone marrow transplant. The testing is simple, just a cotton swab inside the mouth, and painless.
All proceeds raised from Ladies Night will go to the Gift of Life, who has earmarked the funds to directly aid a 7-year-old girl named Sami, who suffers from a rare form of cancer called Fanconi Anemia. Sami’s doctor appointments will prevent her from attending the event, but her parents are amazed by the outreach of support.
“We’ve always hosted a charity event in the fall and our members and their guests look forward to it,” said general manager Bill Lemanski. “We love the idea of helping match bone marrow donors with patients, which is something new this year. We’ve raised thousands of dollars for charities over the years and this time we hope to save a life, too.”
