Country Town Diner catches fire last night

No injuries were sustained to any first responders.

The following information is from the Berlin Borough Police Department:

Last night at 11:45 p.m., the Berlin Borough Police Department received a call for an active fire on the White Horse Pike in the Thackara Avenue area, according to the department’s Facebook page.

Upon arrival, there was an active fire inside of the Country Town Diner. Fire departments on the scene worked quickly to suppress the fire. The business was closed and unoccupied at the time and no injuries were sustained to any first responders.

The area was closed through the night but reopened around 3 a.m.

The investigation is currently being handled by Sgt. Mike Scheer and the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office.
